What is the best gift you have ever received? Was it a toy as a kid? Was it a certain piece of jewelry from your significant other? Or the gift of time spent with someone? I think we all have gifts that have stood out in our minds over time. I am rarely surprised over my gifts, although I appreciate my hubby trying to surprise me. A few years ago though, he bought me a ring. I had no clue he was getting it and it was exactly the style I would have chosen for myself. He even went so far as sneaking one of my other rings out so he could get just the right size. That was definitely the “thinking man’s” approach. I was surprised and touched that he would do all that to surprise me. It was a great gift! I have had lots of other great gifts through the years but it cannot top the best gift I have ever received.
The greatest gift, by far, was the gift of grace that gives me redemption in Christ Jesus. Jesus gave the gift of grace and redemption to a lost and dying world through His sacrifice. The gift is offered to everyone regardless of background, maturity, faith, goodness or anything else. There are no strings attached, only acceptance. It is not forced on anyone, you can take it or leave it. The gift is truly free to everyone.
Titus 2:11 (ESV) For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people
I think the very simplicity of a gift without strings for no other reason than love is the thing that people have a hard time with. They don’t understand how anyone can give someone something so huge without expectations. We don’t have to earn this priceless gift. It is freely given out of love.
John 3:16-17 (ESV) For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him.
But wait, there’s more! The free gift of grace doesn’t end with salvation. No! It is the gift that keeps giving. God just keeps on giving. His grace gives us strength and comfort. Because of the abundance of grace we have received, we can show grace to others. I guess you could call that re-gifting.
2 Corinthians 8:7 (ESV) But as you excel in everything – in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all earnestness, and in our love for you – see that you excel in this act of grace also
2 Corinthians 9:8 (ESV) And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.
I too have received many very special gifts from others but by far my favorite gift ever is the gift of eternal life.
Yes! It’s the gift of eternal life that counts.

to write a killer headline? I mean, I don’t wish to tell you how to run your website, but what if you added a
headline that makes people desire more? I mean Grace Freely Given – Hope, Joy and Grace is kinda plain.
You could look at Yahoo’s home page and see how they create news headlines to get viewers interested.
You might try adding a video or a related picture or two to grab people excited about everything’ve written. In my opinion, it could
make your website a little livelier.
